Welcome to my Blog!! I needed to find an outlet for everything that I have gone through over the last year and am still going through.

I find it cathartic to write about it and to get it all out, so that is what I am doing. I am sure that I am not alone in what I have been through, so if I can find others out there who have been in my position in the past or are going through it now and we can help each other then that would be amazing!

So here is a bit about me and the lead up to the worst possible time of my life.

I am married to a Type 1 diabetic, diagnosed at the age of 16. We have been through a few health scares because of this, mostly due to his feet, lots of infections, ulcers and even had a toe amputated! Also a few problems with eyes, again side effects of living with diabetes for a long time.

We decided to move to Mallorca for a fresh start, to help his health. We thought that a more outdoor lifestyle would be good for him. Lots of sun and swimming, not so much walking which he was increasingly not allowed to do as it could cause blisters and blisters cause ulcers!

But the problems didn’t go away. New country with a different healthcare system and different ways of managing his problems but he still developed ulcers and infections. And this led to the worst year of our life, 2023, I did not know just how dangerous infections could be but I was about to find out!
